
Joseph Samuel Azar DDS, 92, previously of Glenshaw, died Friday, July 16, 2021, at Dawn of McCandless in Pittsburgh. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Cablan Joseph Azar and Julia (Matry) Azar.
Surviving are his former spouse, Ruth Kline of Brevard, N.C.; and three youngsters: David Azar of Austin, Texas, Susan Azar (husband Victor Zona) of Brevard, N.C. and daughter Lauren Azar (spouse Rebecca Ryan) of Madison, Wis.
Along with his mother and father, he was preceded in dying by an toddler sister, Helen; and a brother, Cablan “Turk” Azar of Altoona.
Academically, Joe was a 1946 graduate of Altoona Excessive Faculty, and a 1949 graduate of the College of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor of Science diploma. In 1956, he graduated from the College of Pittsburgh with a Doctorate of Dentistry Science and later returned to earn a put up graduate diploma in Orthodontics. Throughout his profession, Joe taught organic sciences on the College of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
Following dental faculty, he joined the Military in Fort Eustis, Va. serving as a Captain within the U.S Military as a dentist. Upon coming back from the service, he started his put up graduate research and ultimately opened a non-public observe specializing in orthodontics serving the North Hills for over 35 years.
Household and mates shall be acquired from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Neely Funeral Residence, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. Interment shall be at 2:30 p.m., Lot 298 in Woodland 3 of Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown.
